Ratings & Comments(Average:

- Acai EnergyI ordered these powdered drinks and would like to order them again, but they are priced a little higher than some others. I felt a mild energy boost from the drinks, and I enjoyed the taste. As someone with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue, I can use all the help I can get. I like the fact that the acai berry contains antioxidants important for all around health.
- A reasonable choiceHaving recently bitten on Lance Armstrong's "free" offer of his own "Free Radical Scavenger" drink, I'll admit I'm favorably predisposed toward any similar mix that doesn't come with concealed strings attached (like unexpected monthly credit card charges for unordered products). Nonetheless, a comparison between "FRS Healthy Energy" and "To Go Brands Acai Energy" powders shows the following:
Cost: FRS breaks down to $[...] per packet/glass; To Go Brands works out to $[...] per packet/glass.
Calories: FRS=10 calories; TGB=24.
Caffeine: FRS=35mg caffeine (green tea extract and pure); TGB=66mg caffeine (green tea and guarana)
Herbs: FRS=Panax ginseng and gingko biloba; TGB=yerba mate
Fruits: FRS=none listed; TGB=grape, apple, pomegranate, mango.
Vitamins: Close to mdr in each. FRS has Vit. E 200% daily value; TGB has no E but chromium 83% daily value. The main discrepancy is Vitamin B12: FRS=100mcg (100%); TGB=2.5mg (16,666%).
Primary feature: FRS=quercetin (antioxidant found in blueberry/grape skins, etc., claimed by mfr to supply natural and sustained energy boost); TGB=acai (palm tree fruit claimed by mfr to supply natural and sustained energy boost).
Subjective impressions: both drinks are sufficiently (and about equally) flavorful. Neither drink provides as much of an immediate "lift" as a cup of coffee nor (as yet anyway) prevents the late-afternoon "crash" that some of us are familiar with. If antioxidants are a major concern, fish and flaxseed oil are better, or at least more widely "proven," alternatives. If you tend to skip the daily multivitamin "insurance," either drink provides a pretty good alternative, though the mega-B12 content of TGB makes it a worthwhile choice for anyone suffering from fatigue that may be systemic rather than due to stress or sleep deprivation.
Should "acai" suddenly begin to live up to its hype, I'll raise my rating. In the meantime, pure spring water, free of all artificial sweetening, is looking none the worse to me.
- great drinki drink the acai juice every day and was looking for something to add to my water. this stuff is supposed to be great for you. i have noticed a decrease in my aches and pains and also, i have alot more energy. enough of the acai, as for this powder, i love it. this is the third time i am getting it. i used to by crystal light and lipton mixes to add to my water, but this is better. it is natural and you do get an energy buzz after you drink it. you don't feel gittery but you know you have more energy plus, it is supposed to be great for you. it is very tasty and if you are looking for something to spice up that plain water, this is it. i know it is pricey, but the health benefits are worth it.
- A gentle energy boostWith a palate quality of other powdered drinks, it's mildly sweet, herbal flavor reflects the Acai, Yerba Mate, and other herbal organics whose flavors I am not experienced enough to distinguish. It is an effective alternative to caffeinated drinks in improving alertness while minimizing the untoward effects of caffeine on heart and bladder muscles (ectopic heart beats, bladder irritability).
- GROSSTHIS STUFF TASTES REALLY "OFF". CRINGE-WORTHY. I HAVE A BOX OF IT DON'T KNOW WHAT I CAN DO WITH THIS. Expensive, too. And I PAID for shipping! grrrr..... MADE ME NAUSEOUS. Ingredients look good but I recommend The Guru Energy drink with similar ingredients to get a 'natural lift" -- and get your ACAI from Zola's Acai -- tastes fantastic. DISAPPOINTED!
